Announcing the first Give London grants!
The London Community Foundation and Give London’s founding donor, residential-led developer Mount Anvil, are delighted to announce that the first grants of the initiative have been awarded.
Launched in February, the initiative has awarded nearly ÂŁ24,000 in core grant funding to six charities: North & South London Cares, Baobab, Belong London, London Football Journeys, Mazi Mas and the Drop in Bereavement Centre.
Each group received ÂŁ3,972 in early August, with grants going towards a range of initiatives, from holding social clubs for elderly individuals to increasing staff levels and delivery of their services.
Russell Delew, The London Community Foundation Chief Executive, says: “Give London is an important and exciting opportunity for the public to make a valuable and lasting impact across the capital. We hope to touch the lives of even more disadvantaged people and groups, and provide vital support at a grassroots level.”
Killian Hurley, Mount Anvil’s Chief executive, commented: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Give London and hope that together we can encourage even greater philanthropy across the capital. It is important to us at Mount Anvil to give back to community-led projects and organisations that are doing a fantastic job below the general public’s radar – it’s the right thing to do.”
The London Community Foundation is grateful to the Mount Anvil for their sponsorship, and the branding and design agency, The Allotment, for all their hard work and pro bono support.
